New building to commence Summer 2017
We regularly receive a variety of 'story sacks/drama boxes' from Headcorn Library and Treasure Chest and also have some of our own. These boxes/sacks are filled with interesting items to spark children's story telling ideas. The children are taken in small groups to act out a story e.g. The Three Little Pigs. Each sack/box contains props and puppets relevant to the story. This activity helps the children with their speech and language skills, taking turns and listening.
Children are taken in small groups through the early stages of understanding French. We talk about where France is, our names and ages, counting up to ten, days of the week, colours and everyday phrases such as 'hello' and 'goodbye'.
Promoting interactive and sensory learning which supports the development of young children through fun and simple yoga whilst supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage. Children benefit from developing their flexibility, fitness, concentration, behaviour and overall self-esteem.
Please note that for non-funded Nursery children, these music, French conversation and yoga sessions are included in your child's morning fees.
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT GROUPS
For many years now, we have established at The Old School House, some small support groups for a number of children within the nursery. These groups are aimed at developing children’s communication skills, their confidence and aim to encourage children to concentrate, share, and walk within the Nursery and generally get used to nursery routine and socialise with other children in a positive manner.
These groups have been enormously successful each year and both the children and their parents have found them a very positive process.
There is no additional charge to parents for this service.

Thank you so much for all your help with L's listening. She absolutely loves the group work with you and always comes home full of it! She has definitely improved with all aspects of listening and being patient which I'm so grateful to you for.
